The Steiner Hochalm is located at 1535m and offers a wonderful view over the whole Gasteinertal and the surrounding mountains. Starting from the Hotel and Restaurant Hauserbauer in direction Mitterbauer through meadows and a magnificent spruce forest to reach the Steiner Hochalm in about 1.5 hours, this variant can also be ideally combined with a circular route to the Paarseen. The slightly longer version leads from the Hauserbauer over the Reiterbauer to the Maierhofer Almen and the Steiner Hochalm.
Experienced hikers can also choose a large variant (about 4 to 5 hours walking time): driveway from Dorfgastein with the gondola to Fulseck, then hike to Arltörl and the magnificent Schuhflicker, over the ridge to the Paarseen and stop at the Steiner Hochalm.
From the valley you can hike from the district Maierhofen along the forest road, this path also allows mountain bikers to drive to the Steiner Hochalm.
All kinds of delicacies such as sausages, bacon, farmer's bread, roast pork, organic cheeses and Gasteiner delicacies such as fresh farmhouse donuts are offered - and sometimes (mostly on Sundays) there's the unique "Blattlkrapfen".
