Every Monday there is the possibility to take part in the Gastein ski safari for free. The information team of the Gasteiner Bergbahnen and the Skischool Bad Hofgastein present the variety of pistes in Gastein and give insider tips on skiing. Explore the extensive ski area of the Gastein Valley and get to know the most beautiful slopes and rustic huts of Gastein. To participate in the ski safari, you should be an advanced skier and at least master a parallel swing.
The Gasteinertal offers an enormous variety of slopes with 200km of perfectly groomed ski slopes in 4 large ski areas. Approximately 60km are classified as easy to ski slopes, about 110km as medium difficult and almost 20km as heavy slopes (black slopes), complemented by numerous ski routes and opportunities for freeriders.
The largest connected ski area in Gastein is the Skischaukel Stubnerkogel - Angertal - Schlossalm, the Skischaukel Dorfgastein-Grossarltal connects in a diverse and family-friendly ski area equal to 2 Salzburg valleys, the high-alpine Sportgastein reaches up to 2650m and the Graukogel as World Cup host city of the 1958 Alpine World Ski Championships long and difficult slopes for the top skiers.
