The Schockhochalm was rebuilt in 2002 and is located at about 1665m directly on a forest road above Harbach in the municipality of Bad Hofgastein. The rustic and cozy alpine hut offers products from organic farming, such as the "Almjause" with bacon, cheese and alpine butter - you should also treat yourself to a schnapps.
There are several ways to get to the Schockalm, e.g. with the Fulseckbahn in Dorfgastein to the summit at 2030m, then over the Kreuzkogel (2027m) towards Perastlscharte (1834m) in about 2 hours to the alp.
Alternatively, you can walk from the Harbach district via an idyllic path or hike the forest road to the mountain pasture in about 2.5 to 3 hours - mountain bikers also use this well-developed forest road.
Interesting peaks: Fulseck 2030m, Kreuzkogel 2027m, Aukopf 2136m
