The Maurachalm lies at approx. 1606m in the Leidalm area of Bad Hofgastein, between the middle and top station of the Schlossalm lift. The rustic alpine hut is open in summer and is a popular destination for hikers and mountain bikers. There is bacon, cheese and other delicious products from our region, homemade cakes and of course a homemade schnapps.
There are several wonderful ways to reach the alpine hut:
• From the Kleine Scharte mountain station past the Hirschinger downhill to the alp in about 40 minutes or in a longer variant over the Brandner Hochalm in about 1.5 hours.
• From the Schlossalmbahn middle station, it takes about 45 minutes to get to us, as a longer variant you can also walk away from the valley.
• For mountain bikers, it is advisable to arrive via the Brandnerhof in Wieden or, for example, from the Lackenbauer via the Bärsteinalm / middle station to the Maurachalm.
In winter, the ski run H2 (small and high gap) leads directly past the Maurachalm and can be rented on a weekly basis - the rare opportunity to spend a holiday in a comfortable alpine hut directly on the ski slope.
Living in the Maurachalm: The comfort chalets offer a special holiday experience: living at 1606m directly in the hiking area or next to the ski slope. We offer 2 chalets for up to 7 people and 1 romantic chalet for 2 people. Spacious kitchen with wood stove, shower / toilet, underfloor heating, satellite TV and radio.
