With a magnificent view over the Gastein valley, walking in the woods sometimes, but mostly promising a sunny day and gorgeous blooming mountain meadows at 1400 m.
The road, which branches off below the ‚Lackenbauers’, right towards Angertall. Only the first few meters are paved, and after the first uphill slope, we follow a beautiful forestpath, which now leads gently downhill. Soon after a cattle gate at the lowest point of the path you turn left onto a narrow, sometimes quite steep path on which we can (not with strollers!) shorten a wide bend considerably. It is more convenient to continue to remain on the forestpath, which our shortcut meets just before Bärsteinalm (1286 m). It is always worth a short rest before the hike, now on a steeper path, passes by the middle station of the ski area at Schlossalmbahn and Aeroplanstadl. Now it is once again about ten minutes downhill before we reach the two beautiful mountain pastures. Then nothing stands in the way of a delicious snack with products from our own organic farm (Fundneralm), freshly baked donuts and “Pofesen”. Back it goes either on the ascent (with a nice stop at the ‚Lackerbauer’!) Or you turn left by Aeroplanstadl and hike (not with strollers!) on the narrow forest path directly to Bad Hofgastein via the valley station of the Schlossalmbahn - or you go easy on the knees and can comfortably take the Schlossalmbahn to the valley! Less recommendable is the way 127A, that is steep and leads mostly through dense forest to Bad Hofgastein.
